LATEST WEATHER PREDICTIONS FOR WINTER SEASON 09/2010
Here is the latest updated version of the predicted weather conditions we can expect in the French Alpine regions as issued on the 2nd December!
You saw it first here, but please read the small print....we cannot be held resposible for the weather ...!!!
December 2009
Current disturbed oscillating systems and air flow of the North-West in south-west bringing frequent and abundant snowfalls. The limit of the snowfalls will fluctuate according to flow: average mountain altitude in SW, down to the valleys in NW. This situation will determine an excellent snowy covering at all the altitudes. The glaciers will be well covered.
January 2010
The situation persists, colder and giving more intermittent snow-covered disturbances with beautiful cold sunny periods. The disturbances will come from the North-West to north bringing powder and snows to valley levels.
February 2010
Situation favourable, with the arrival of a cold snap from Siberia. Starting with snow then the arrival of cold air of the North-East will give a sunny dry time but bitterly cold, low temperatures. A mockery of global warming…
March 2010
After the Siberian anticyclone of February, the cold air persists a little but the current of the North-West takes control again. The advantage will be to bring a rise in temperature then of abundant snowfalls. Then, will follow a time of showers and sunshine with days definitely warmer.
April 2010
Nothing distinctly good: some weak disturbances always in the North-West intersected with beautiful periods of sun, in a milder air but without any distinctive weather.
