VIA FERRATA

This is mountain climbing for the uninitiated! It is suitable for anyone aged 8 and over so long as you have a head for heights!

There are 2 climbs available in Courchevel, a shorter easier one overhanging Lake Rosiere which takes about 2 hours to complete and is 600m in length with a vertical drop of 80m. Also Croix du Verdun which is 800m in length with a vertical drop of 225m and takes 3.5 hours to complete.

The footholds and handholds are already in the rock face and you are roped together in groups of about 8 persons with your own carabiners. There are also 2 monkey bridges to cross which consist of nothing more than a couple of cables!

I can assure you that along with the white water rafting this is a must for adreneline junkies. Who needs I'm a Celebrity!

The cost is from 30 Euros per person which includes the guide and all safety equipment.but you will need to wear warm clothing, long trousers and trainers or soft boots.

There are a further 2 more climbs in Champagny le Vanoise again an easier one and one for more experienced climbers, times are from 3hours to 1.30 hours depending on route and the climb, and prices are from 55 Euros per person.
